UNR vs UKF   148 - 29

Lava Tomb - Q2DM3

When I first joined this server I thought I had something wrong with my settings….was my Rate set to 100?, cl_maxfps 5? Or was my Mouse filter off? No it was massive packet loss noticed by all players….especially the modemers of which I was one.

Well no point in moaning, especially with Witz admining ;OP , so I thought I’d make the best of a bad situation and at least try and stop the enemy grabbing the weapons…..

After five minutes of the game I realised it was worst than I had feared… Although UNR were 35-1 ahead, I was on zero :O( I kept tripping on [UKF]Excessions pesky mines that I just couldn’t see!

The Grenade Launcher was a weapon UKF made effective use of, quite often hanging around the bottom of the big ladder to the RL.

After 10" it was UNR 63 to UKF’s 13, mainly thanks to Tasan and Lukes control of the Quad and Invulnerability.

In the next 5" I had a good spell with the Rocket Launcher and clocked a reasonable amount of frags up (phew, Not out the clan! ;0).

As UNR hit 100 Cham overflowed, thus The Kurgan joined GrimReefer, The Raven & Excession….In the final 5" he made a good contribution to UKF’s effort.

Some lovely railing from Yaku towards the end ensured our 148-29 victory. Thanks to UKF for putting up a good fight and thanx to Jester for his demo Well played :O)

UNR vs APO   121 - 32

Lost Hallways - Q2DM4

DM4 is not always the most exiting of levels with 4 on 4 due to its size, but this was UNR vs APO…

UNR got off to a flying start with plenty of weapon pick-ups, making it 6 to minus 1 in the first minute!

The -1 was due to the many lava deaths experienced during the game…The server seemed to have an annoying habit of dropping blocks of packets, causing the infamous ‘death with no shot fired’ syndrome :O( This is really annoying to the person shot and confusing for the person firing.

Both teams struggled on but half way through it was 50 / 14 to UNR.

[APO]Tiemat tried to control the BFG but kept getting picked off by the UNR team of Tasan, Yakumo, Rude & JuBoy.

[APO]Amadeus had similar trouble covering the Quad whilst MadDog & MrBusy tried to cover the rest of the level.

With 7" to go Tasan went on an amazing Railing spree..it was jaw dropping stuff to watch…Excellent play Tas :O)

With only 4" to the end, Amedeus grabbed the Quad with his Chaingun….

a lethal combination…

Unfortunately, due to the level size he only managed to find and kill Juboy, who returned the favour with a BFG kill! Hard luck Amedeus..I have been there many a time and it is sooo annoying!

As the timer struck 20" the game concluded with a massive 121 / 32 to UNR.

Well done both teams for putting up a good battle!

UNR vs NME   63 - 66

Warehouse - Q2DM8

NME had a disappointment at the beginning of the match..poor ole Phreaky had to pull out before the start because of an appalling con :O( Spog stepped in to take his place, which turned out to be BFG cover..a weapon that dominated a lot of the game....

UNR had even more bad luck with Yakumo & Insomniak both having to suicide due to the Battle 'respawn bug'....NME quickly tooled up and let rip on UNR.....

With only 5" played NME had doubled UNR's score and they managed to keep up a decent lead for the first half....(UNR)Tasan decided to fight fire with fire (or Green Ball with Green Ball!) and with help from his trusty BFG, UNR fought back and within a few minutes UNR broke into the lead...

With 5" to go NME had seemed to have lost their way 42-49 behind, but then Killdozer picked up the Railgun.....

With his amazing Railing spree it was dead even at 52 ALL with 3" to go!!!

The game was still anybody's...NME had to stay calm and that they did.

[UNR]Luke's amusing 'nooooooo' comment at the end of the game summed up the final score...NME 66 UNR 63

A brilliant nail biting game for both sides with a result soooo close!

Congratulations Killdozer, reaper, Blufftrash & Spog..u fought gallantly..

condolences to the UNR team but....there is always next time ;O)

UNR vs SS   96 - 56

Tokays Towers - Q2DM2

I don't know how many of you know, but the season 3 match between UNR and SS on DM2 was a 'no-score draw' as neither clan was happy to play on the servers allocated. Note: We weren't being Prima-donnas...the servers were genuinely unplayable. This time around I would like to thank the admins and BW for the quality of server we had for the match.

Anyway, by happy coincidence - yeah, right Vince ;-), DM2 was again the venue for this 'clash of the titans'. Both clans had something to prove and scores to settle from the aborted games of the previous season. Couple this with the fact that SS consistently give us tough matches (no relaxing or show boating in these games) and you know this was gonna be tough :)

The start of the match was very close, after 3 mins the teams were locked at 10 - 10. SS were attempting to control the quad from the platform above the RL lift and also the megahealth from it's platform. It seemed Clitliquer was on this duty - scoring many frags as UNR players tried to ascend the long lift from the Rocket launcher spawn point.

Tas and Luke were on form, both scoring at a very steady rate throughout the game, Luke taking the advantage over Tas in the latter half of the match.

SS Clitliquer played well for SS, he was their top scorer and his coverage of the top lift and quad position prevented UNR from fully controlling the game. Well played.

(We knew you were there mate, but when the red mist descended we kept forgetting and walking straight into your rockets...Doh!!)

Tas and Luke get going in minutes 3 to 5 to give UNR a 24 - 13 lead. By the 10 minute mark we are away by 47 - 24 and the pressure has come off a little. SS positions are being broken, the time it takes to re-form them is capitalised on by us as we gain access to the previously SS controlled areas of the map.

During minutes 10 to 15 we pull away further, all members contributing to this period. with 15 minutes gone the score is 80 - 35 to UNR.

The last 5 minutes sees a great effort from SS to regain control of the map. They outscore us heavily around minutes 15 to 18, at one point outscoring us 2:1 ...nice play doods :)

The final 2 minutes sees UNR upping their frag rate to exceed that of SS and we pull back some of the ground we lost. Final score UNR 96 SS 56.

Well played UNR, another good win. Commiseration's to SS who put up a good fight and kept good control over some areas of the map.

Stuff from the demo:

Luke all BFG'd up and ready to gib some major butt getting quad SSG'd from behind...now that's bad luck :(

Yaku picking up the BFG Luke drops and killing the quaded dood that killed Luke...now that's good luck :)

Luke having a mowing spree by the Rocket launcher..some major moves there...almost makes up for him wasting that BFG....

Tasan going on a railing spree in the final quarter of the game...animal.

Many shots of UNR players being rocketed by Clitliquer as they try and get up the RL lift :(
